Water in the hotels in Israel is safe to drink. Bottled water is readily available and can be purchased at the majority of tour sites or on the tour vehicle. Typically, the cost is nominal.
The shekel, or more precisely the NIS (New Israeli Shekel), is the currency in Israel. Most shops, stores, restaurants, sites, and places you’ll be visiting accept US currency and will likely return your change with shekels. There are ATMs throughout Israel, sometimes even in hotel lobbies should you wish to exchange your money after arriving in Israel. We suggest bringing currency in smaller denominations; it’s easier to purchase souvenirs with smaller denominations.
